Our client is a highly respected mid-market accountancy and business services firm, providing tailored accounting, audit, and advisory solutions to a diverse portfolio of clients including privately owned companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders. They are seeking a high-calibre Accounts Senior to join their London office, working closely with senior leadership to deliver high-quality accounts, management reporting, and client service.
Based in their Central London office, this role is a combination of office-based and client-facing responsibilities. The Accounts Senior will spend approximately 50% of their time on year-end accounts and 50% on management accounts, with exposure to preparing draft tax computations. The position offers significant autonomy, the opportunity to work across a varied client portfolio, and experience managing junior staff and small teams.
This is a premium client-facing role requiring a highly organised, detail-oriented professional with excellent technical accounting skills and strong interpersonal abilities. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative, high-performing team environment and be comfortable engaging with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare accurate draft accounts from client records, ranging from basic prime books to computerised accounting packages.
Produce well-presented accounts files (paper or paperless) for review.
Prepare VAT returns and management accounts.
Provide occasional supervision and support to junior staff.
Manage day-to-day office-based accounting duties as required.
Handle ad hoc specialist assignments and client queries.
Maintain high standards of compliance, confidentiality, and client service.
Person Specification
Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or other recognised professional accounting qualification.
Strong experience in full accounts production for a diverse client portfolio.
Proficient in Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management with ability to meet tight deadlines.
Flexible and able to prioritise workloads effectively.
Experience managing junior staff and working in small teams is highly desirable.
Comfortable working in a hybrid environment based from the London office.
